Any ideas on microwave having convection & grill option?
I've bought a new Sanyo mircowave EMD975W having convection & grill & microwave options.
Also what is convection option actually meant for?
What type of plate can be used in all above options? Also what type of plate can be used in any of the above combination options?
Could some1 please guide how to use and how to clean also.
I steam chicken with water in a plate (for my dog) in the microwave, won't this water affect the microwave. The roof & door of my previous microwave got rusted but I'm not sure whether it was due to the water from steaming chicken. This time I wouldn't want my new microwave to get rusted too & hence ask your expert opinions to help me.
Also, in the new oven, I continue to heat up chicken in some water in microwave mode. How do I prevent the rust problem for recurring.

The Convection technology provides a uniform air forced cooking and baking temperature where as conventional ovens cycle the temp up and down to maintain a constant.
Any Oven proof cookware can be used for the oven setting and Microwave cookware for that application, if using in combination then Glass/Pyrex bake-ware is recommended , tho metal bake-ware is oven proof it's not microwave proof. Clean with a multi-purpose spray cleaner and a sponge. Rust? in a Microwave? not a chance, rust implies metal with an "Iron" compound (porous). All Microwaves use Stainless Steel with a high chromium level for the reflective properties of the microwaves. Wipe the inside of your new oven with a dry paper towel after each use to keep particles from sticking to the walls and obstructing the process in which the oven works. Good Luck

Certain microwaves have more than one method of cooking. Yours is such. It has micro, grill and convection.
Micro is where you can cook your food, boil your vegetables and also re-heat your food.
Grill is self-explainatory.
Convection acts like the traditional oven. You can bake, roast your food here. You can make cakes, bake chicken and pies, melt cheese on your toast, toast garlic bread, bake bread, etc. All these baking and roasting cannot be done in the micro section.
Your oven will also have combination cooking where you can combine two kinds of cooking methods, like grilling and convection or micro and convection. You can bake the chicken and grill it at the same time under this process.
Your product must have come with a manual. You must consult that for all important information, especially utensils. You must use oven-proof utensils for the convection. Never use metal utensils or aluminium foil in the micro.
Steaming chicken is fine. The reason your oven got rusted is because the water that is let out while cooking settled inside. You should have wiped the interior clean after use to avoid that.
Never use any detergent to clean the interior, just wipe with damp cloth. If it is too dirty and has grease, then boil a cup of water with lemon juice under micro method. Then let stand for 5 seconds. remove the bowl and wipe the inside clean. You can use 409 cleaning agent sometimes. Wipe the exterior with glass cleaner. It is the best.
Hope this helps. You must check out the manual.
